Flamingos Stymie Brooklyn, Take 6-1 Win
|
Fans who gathered at The Strip saw a good contest between the Las Vegas Flamingos and Brooklyn Dodgers.
Joey McCarthy never let the Brooklyn Dodgers find their groove. Throughout the game, McCarthy relied on his bread and butter, his sinker, in pitching the Flamingos to a win. The Flamingos go to 47-39, putting them third in the Division III.
Also making an impact was catcher Jeff Young, who drilled a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third for Las Vegas. For the game, Young went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Las Vegas Flamingos manager JJ Hoban, "I like our chances."
