Hawks Stick Legion with 5-3 Loss

It was a good time at Hawks Ballpark, where fans came to watch the Kingston Township Legion and Chicago Hawks get after it.
The Chicago Hawks did just enough to secure a 5-3 victory over the Kingston Township Legion at Hawks Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Joe Crown, who captured player of the game honors. Crown got the win, improving to 6-9. He allowed 8 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Crown allowed 3 earned runs. Shi-lin Li converted his 5th save in 5 tries.
Chicago designated hitter Robbie Roach helped the Hawks go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the fifth inning. With the game tied, Roach hit a run-scoring single off Kingston Township pitcher Roger Shaw.
"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Roach told the Chicago Gazette.
Chicago is now riding a 3-game win streak.
