Whalers Take Down Red Knights, 4-3
|
The Hartford Whalers relied on the hitting of right fielder Emílio Sáenz to stop the Capital District Red Knights, 4-3. For the game, Sáenz was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Glenn West nailed down his 4th save. The 8th-place Whalers are now 37-40, the Red Knights 31-46.
Sáenz came through with some timely hitting for Hartford. With the score 2-0 in the bottom of the third and two down, Sáenz hit a full count fastball for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season -- and a big reason the Whalers managed to win.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Sáenz told the Hartford Today.
