The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC eeked out a 6-2 win versus the Las Vegas Flamingos at Great Northern Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Júlio Palma, who captured player of the game honors. Andrés Martínez closed the door for Thunder Bay, picking up his 3rd save of the year. Thunder Bay is 31-28 and Las Vegas, with the loss, 36-23.

In the bottom of the first, David Smith hit a 2-run home run for Thunder Bay. The 13th home run of the season for the Thunder Bay designated hitter put the Northern Lions BC on top, 2-0.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Smith told the Thunder Bay Herald.
