Legion Walk Off with 4-3 Win
|
The inspired effort of Rocky Mountain designated hitter Andrés Rodríguez was not enough to prevent a 4-3 loss to the Kingston Township Legion. Rodríguez was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Kingston Township reliever Toshiro Saikawa was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Kenny Powers took the loss. The Legion, at 29-30, sit in 7th place in the Division III.
Layton Templeman was the walk-off hero for Kingston Township. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Kingston Township third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Enjoyed this one," Templeman told the Kingston Township Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
