Late Rally by Red Knights Secures Win
|
The Capital District Red Knights bested the Brooklyn Dodgers, 5-3, at Ebbetts Field. Barry Dempsey was named player of the game. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to Ánibal Rivera in relief. His record improves to 3-2. John Kaufman took the loss. Miguel Toro closed the game out for Capital District, earning his 11th save.
Dempsey had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-2 curveball from John Kaufman, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Red Knights a 5-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Dempsey.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Dempsey.
The 'W' lifts Capital District's record to 24-34.
