The Chicago Hawks picked up a win at Ebbetts Field, knocking off the Brooklyn Dodgers, 4-1. Starting pitcher Ryan Davis played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Davis, now 1-1. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 2. Even with the win, the Chicago Hawks have a dismal 17-36 record.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth. That's when Pedro Longoria, who is tied for 7th in the 3L in triples with 2, hit a sacrifice fly. The Hawks went on to win.
"Everything felt in sync," said Davis.
