Whalers Lose to Flamingos, 5-4
|
John Aston helped his team muscle past the Hartford Whalers, 5-4. In the game, the Las Vegas catcher went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles. Cris Herrera, credited with the win, is now 6-2. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 5.1 innings. Las Vegas bumps their record to 29-19 with the win.
The Las Vegas triumph was a team effort. It included several important contributors, Sake van Arem not least among them. In the bottom of the second, the Las Vegas third baseman came to bat and hit a bases-clearing double. It staked his team to a 3-0 lead.
"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," van Arem told the Las Vegas Herald.
