Pandas Win at Louisville, 7-4
|
The Montana Pandas grabbed a 7-4 win over the Louisville BC at Louisville Park. Montana first baseman Mario Cruz was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs to earn player of the game honors. The win was credited to Taro Ohayashi in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Juan Ángel took the loss. Today's win puts Montana at 16-26, while Louisville falls to 18-24.
Cruz came through with some timely hitting for Montana. With the score 5-3 in the top of the seventh and two down, Cruz hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run single. It was his 14th hit of the season -- and a big reason the Pandas managed to win.
In postgame remarks, Cruz said: "We put it together today and came out with the win -- that's the main thing."
