The Capital District Red Knights defeated the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 5-3, in Third League action at Capital Grounds, with Capital District pitcher Luis Peña named player of the game. Peña, now 3-3, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Earning his 4th save of the year was Miguel Toro.

Mike Cook, who was drafted in the three round of the 2020 draft, aided the Capital District cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.

"It feels good to get that win," said Peña. "Now it's on to the next one."

The 10th-place Red Knights improved to 16-24.
