Nobles Knock Off Milton at Jerome Grounds
The Bakersfield Nobles thumped the Milton Dogfish Head, 9-2, at Jerome Grounds. Jason Ruffin was a big reason his team got the win. Ruffin was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Elvin Brooks earned the win to go to 1-2. He allowed 2 earned runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. The Dogfish Head fall to 4-7 and continue their uneasy start to the 2025 season.

Ruffin came through with some timely hitting for Bakersfield. With the score 1-0 in the bottom of the first and two down, Ruffin hit a 1-2 sinker for a 2-run single. It was his 4th hit of the season -- and a big reason the Nobles managed to win.

"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Bakersfield Nobles manager James Wheeler.
