Thundercats Solve Grey Wolves, 3-2
|
Richardson City turned a good effort from starter Alec Pittman into a win over the Vancouver Grey Wolves at The Thunder Dome. The final score was 3-2. Pittman, now 6-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Dave Reed nailed down his 16th save.
Mitch Qualtrough's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant for the Thundercats. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Richardson City leading 2-0, the shortstop hit into a double play.
Qualtrough said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Richardson City is now 40-20, 4 games up in the Division I.
