In a low-scoring game between the Vancouver Grey Wolves and the Richardson City Thundercats, pitcher Raúl Areola was masterful on the mound. The Vancouver right-hander was named the player of the game in Vancouver's 3-0 win. David Hudson recorded his 21st save for Vancouver. The 4th-place Grey Wolves improved to 34-25.

Areola, who was born in Jaquimeyes, Dominican Republic, threw 111 pitches over 8.1 innings, while allowing no earned runs.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Imran Kopitar.
