The Pure Michigan Great Lakers beat the Tortolita Drummers, 6-1, at Lansing Park. Pure Michigan left fielder Eric Thackston earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3-3 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI. Pure Michigan reliever Gary Jones was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Harold Taylor took the loss for Tortolita. The Great Lakers picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
