The Houston BC were defeated, 8-5, by the Tortolita Drummers. Leading the charge for Tortolita was right fielder Stephen Blair. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ricky Jackson, credited with the win, is now 8-9. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 6.1 innings. Luis Gonzáles earned the save, his 1st, for the Drummers.
Tortolita grabbed a 6-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth when Juan Blanco hit a bases-clearing double. For the day, Blanco was 2-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Blanco said.
The 7th-place Drummers lifted their record to 41-49.
