Divided Suffer 7-4 Loss to Retrievers

Lúcio López had a good game, but he could not keep the D.C. Divided from falling, 7-4, to the Northern Virginia Retrievers at Washington Stadium. The D.C. first baseman was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice in the loss. Lou Hartling picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-7. He struck out 4 in 5 innings. Northern Virginia has now won 3 in a row.
Pizarrete, Dominican Republic-born Roberto Salazar came through in the clutch. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded and the Retrievers trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run double to left to put Northern Virginia on top.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," was Salazar's succinct comment on the game.
