Great Lakers Stick Timber Hawks with 6-2 Loss
|
The exploits of catcher Ramiro Gonzáles, who is tied for 10th in the SAAA in doubles with 14, helped the Pure Michigan Great Lakers defeat the Augusta Timber Hawks, 6-2. Gonzáles was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The save went to Royce Bradshaw, his 3rd this season. The win puts the Great Lakers at 36-45, while the Timber Hawks drop to 31-50.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the top of the fourth, when Gonzáles hit a double. The Great Lakers went on to win.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Gonzáles told the Pure Michigan Daily News.
