Fans who came to Ballpark of Alloway watched the Alloway Halberds and the Tortolita Drummers fight to the finish.

The Alloway Halberds eeked out a 5-0 win versus the Tortolita Drummers at Ballpark of Alloway. Nobody did more than pitcher Jim Unknown, who captured player of the game honors. Unknown was the winning pitcher and moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks.

Tied up with the Drummers in the bottom of the sixth, the Halberds got a boost from first baseman Jorge López. With the bases loaded, López saw a first pitch cutter from Harold Taylor and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Alloway on top, 2-0.

"We'll savor this win," López told the Alloway Times, "then get ready for the next game."

The Halberds, at 44-33, have now won 5 straight.
