Marmelo Hits 2 home runs in Fighting Dachsunds Win
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds and Tortolita Drummers played an exciting game at Drummers Ballpark.
Ellenburg left fielder Aquiles Marmelo made his presence felt in the 4-3 Fighting Dachsunds triumph over the Tortolita Drummers. Marmelo was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Ed Stark got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 6.
Marmelo had a game-changing home run in the top of the third. On a 0-1 fastball from Gustavo Pérez, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Fighting Dachsunds a 2-0 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Marmelo.
"This was a good win," said Marmelo.
Their 34-40 record puts the Fighting Dachsunds 7th in the Silver AAA.
