Fighting Dachsunds Go Down to Defeat, 3-2
|
Phoenix Hotspur Reserves starter Alin Oanta was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 3-2. Oanta went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 10-1. Phoenix has an impressive 45-21 record.
In the bottom of the 6th, catcher Júlio Mateo gave Phoenix the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Hotspur Reserves had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out home run off Ellenburg pitcher Bob Baker changed that -- and Phoenix went on to win.
"It's a mindset," said Oanta. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
