Doubledays Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Ballpark of Alloway was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Tremont Doubledays and the Alloway Halberds.
The Tremont Doubledays bested the Alloway Halberds, 3-2, at Ballpark of Alloway. Ken Miller was named player of the game. He was 2-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Tremont reliever Jim Unknown was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Dylan Silva took the loss.
Miller came through with some timely hitting for Tremont. With the score 2-1 in the top of the seventh and one down, Miller hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was his 5th hit of the season -- and a big reason the Doubledays managed to win.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Alloway manager Santiago Vargas.
Tremont is 32-32 and Alloway, with the loss, 36-28.
