Doubledays Suffer 4-2 Loss to Fighting Dachsunds
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds and Tremont Doubledays played an exciting game at Dog Park in Ellenburg.
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds topped the Tremont Doubledays, 4-2, in USSL Triple A action at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The player of the game was Ellenburg pitcher and Estrela, Brazil native Severiano Duclos. In 7.2 innings, Duclos surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Bill Schneider earned the save for Ellenburg, his 8th of the year.
The Fighting Dachsunds beat the Doubledays in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the home run José Vázquez produced in the bottom of the second. Batting against Tremont pitcher Jim Unknown, he gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run home run.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Vázquez said after the game.
Ellenburg is in 7th place in the Silver AAA with a record of 28-34.
