Phoenix turned a good effort from starter Santiago Alonza into a win over the Alloway Halberds at Ballpark of Alloway. The final score was 3-2. Adam Garrison closed it out for his 21st save. Phoenix now sits at 41-18, while Alloway falls to 34-25.
John Moore, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with no one out in the top of the seventh. That's when he connected on a fastball from Craig Whitney for a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put Phoenix in front, 3-1.
"We've got a great group of guys," Alonza said, "and we're having fun right now."
