Fighting Dachsunds Best Battlekings in Pitching Duel

Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds starter Bob Baker was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Naperville Battlekings, 2-1. Baker got the win, improving to 1-7. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Baker allowed 1 earned run. Ellenburg is in 7th place in the Silver AAA with a record of 26-32.
The Fighting Dachsunds beat the Battlekings in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the home run Juan Ramos produced in the top of the fifth. Batting against Naperville pitcher Javier Dávila, he gave his team a 1-0 lead when he hit a solo home run.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Naperville skipper Bill Beasley, "and it cost us."
