Drummers Solve Doubledays, 4-3
|
The Tortolita Drummers eeked out a 4-3 win versus the Tremont Doubledays at Doubledays Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Gustavo Pérez, who captured player of the game honors. Jeremy Petty picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Jim Unknown was tagged with the loss. Curt Pennington was credited with the save for Tortolita, his 3rd of the season.
One significant at-bat for Tortolita came with the bases empty in the top of the ninth. The hitter, Stephen Blair, hit a double, which helped the Drummers go on to win.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Tremont manager Lendon Tipton, "let me know."
With the win, Tortolita has a record of 27-30. Tremont falls to 28-29.
