Braves Cut Down Fighting Dachsunds, 3-2
|
Gryfindor Braves starter Jim Unknown turned in a sterling performance against the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Unknown, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. Juan Cantú closed the door for Gryfindor, picking up his 5th save of the year.
José Corona, the Gryfindor shortstop, contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 2-1, Braves. For the game, Corona went 2 for 5 with a home run.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Unknown.
At 40-16, the Braves find themselves in first place in the Silver AAA.
