Late Rally by Halberds Secures Win
|
The Alloway Halberds faced a tough opponent in Houston pitcher Shawn Williams, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Houston Park by a final score of 3-2. Williams went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The 'W' lifts Alloway's record to 32-22.
Danny Hall broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the sixth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Halberds in front, 2-1. For the game, Hall drew 2 walks in 4 plate appearances.
Said Alloway manager Santiago Vargas: "I tell our guys all the time: 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction.'"
