Fighting Dachsunds Take Tight Tilt
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds did just enough to sneak past the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 3-2, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Ellenburg pitcher Bill Gentry earned player of the game honors. Gentry got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 2 hits and walked 5 over 7 innings. Gentry allowed no earned runs. Jim Unknown earned the save for Ellenburg, his 1st.

Preston Hernández, the 14 overall pick in the 2022 draft, aided the Ellenburg cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder went 1-3 with a walk.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Ellenburg manager Armando Saldaña.

The Fighting Dachsunds own a robust 18-24 mark.
