Halberds Fall Short, 7-0, at Augusta
|
The Augusta Timber Hawks topped the Alloway Halberds, 7-0, in USSL Triple A action at Timber Hawks Ballpark. The player of the game was Augusta pitcher and Salvador, Brazil native Antenor Elizalde. In 6.1 innings, Elizalde surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Even with the win, the Augusta Timber Hawks have a dismal 13-27 record.
Pedro Jiménez was a key contributor to the win for the Timber Hawks. In the bottom of the fourth with no one out, the light-hitting designated hitter stroked a double to left. He went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.
