6-5 Win by Braves Continues Hot Start
|
Houston got a terrific game from left fielder Álex Ramírez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Gryfindor, 6-5. Ramírez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Gryfindor starter George Armstrong was credited with the win after throwing 108 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-1. Juan Cantú was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
La Romana, Dominican Republic-born Fernando Sánchez came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Braves trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Gryfindor on top.
"I had a good game," said Sánchez. "Winning makes it even better."
Gryfindor leads the Silver AAA by 2 games.
