Halberds Lose Late, 4-3
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds beat the Alloway Halberds, 4-3, at Ballpark of Alloway. The Fighting Dachsunds got a fine performance from third baseman Travis Lee, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ellenburg reliever Chance Wiley was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jim Unknown. The Fighting Dachsunds improve their record to 14-16 with the win over Alloway.
Ellenburg grabbed control in the top of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Dave Thompson delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 4-3 in favor of the Fighting Dachsunds.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Lee said.
