Great Lakers Nip Hotspur Reserves, 7-2
|
The Pure Michigan Great Lakers picked up a win at Lansing Park, knocking off the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 7-2. On the mound for Pure Michigan was right-hander José Juárez, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 7.1 innings, Juárez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. The Great Lakers bumped their record to 13-12 with this latest triumph.
Early in the game, first baseman Mario Cruz had a 3-run home run for Pure Michigan. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Great Lakers on top, 3-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Cruz told the Pure Michigan Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
