Fighting Dachsunds Need Extra Frames to Get Past Hotspur Reserves
|
The Fighting Dachsunds faced a stiff challenge from Phoenix pitcher Prince Nakamura, but persevered to claim a win at Thunderbirds Stadium. The final score was 4-3. Nakamura went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Ellenburg reliever José Tovar picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Pat McCormick shouldered the loss. With the win, Ellenburg pushes its record to 9-7.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 11th inning. With no one out, Ed Adams hit a 0-2 fastball from Pat McCormick for a solo home run. It put Ellenburg in front, 4-3.
Adams called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
