Martínez Plays Big Role in Alloway Win
|
Alloway right-hander Daniel Martínez made an effective start against the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds at Dog Park in Ellenburg, leading his team to a 4-2 win. Denny Marshall recorded the save for Alloway, his 4th of the season. With their winning streak at 5, the Alloway Halberds have raced to a strong start this season.
Martínez was in the zone all game. He frustrated Ellenburg hitters while giving the Halberds 8 innings of quality work. Martínez threw 107 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 7 punchouts.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Alloway skipper Santiago Vargas.
