The D.C. Divided racked up a win at Buckhead Grounds, bumping off the Buckhead Bowties, 5-1. Yoriyoshi Yamamoto, who started for D.C., pitched effectively for his team. The winning pitcher was Yamamoto, now 5-3. He tossed 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. Edgardo Marín nailed down his 3rd save.

Also contributing to the win was right fielder Mike Gardner, who stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth for D.C.. For the game, Gardner was 2-4 with 2 doubles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI.

Gardner told the D.C. Herald: "This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents. Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
