Ellenburg beat Tortolita at Drummers Ballpark, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Ramiro Rico, who earned player of the game honors. He went 1-2 with a triple and 3 walks. The win leaves Ellenburg with a record of 8-3.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Pedro Pérez came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Tortolita pitcher Mike Desmond, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Ellenburg on top, 5-4.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Tortolita manager Juan López.
