BC Fall Short at Phoenix Hotspur
|
Phoenix Hotspur shortstop Bob Curry made his presence felt in the 7-2 Youth triumph over the San Antonio BC. Curry was 3-5 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The 5th-place Youth raised their record to 54-47.
The most important at-bat came in the top of the 13th inning. With no one out, Miguel Jiménez threw a 1-0 knuckle curve to Curry, which he hit to right for a 2-run single. It put Phoenix Hotspur in front, 4-2.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Phoenix Hotspur manager David Márquez.
