Youth Bang Out 7-2 Win Versus San Antonio
|
The Youth had to overcome a fine effort from San Antonio pitcher Michael Taylor to grab a 7-2 win at San Antonio Field. Taylor went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Sergio Avilés earned the win for Phoenix Hotspur. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 5 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 2-8. Phoenix Hotspur now owns a record of 53-47.
Also producing for Phoenix Hotspur was third baseman Bob Curry, who stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the first. For the game, Curry was 2-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll savor this win," Curry told the Phoenix Hotspur Observer, "then get ready for the next game."
