Youth Go Down to Defeat, 6-1
|
King never let Phoenix Hotspur get something going. The Marquette left-hander commanded his forkball in pitching the Miners to a win. King was the winning pitcher and moves to 8-4. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. The Miners are now 57-38, while the Youth fall to 50-45.
Marquette designated hitter Dale Miller helped the Miners go up, 3-1, in the top of the fourth inning. With the game tied, Miller hit a 2-run double off Phoenix Hotspur pitcher Dylan Guérin.
"I found a nice groove out there," said King.
