The Durham Rapiers picked up a win at Rapiers Ballpark, knocking off the Irving Blue Sox, 3-2. Starting pitcher Francisco Martínez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Durham reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jim Unknown was saddled with the loss. Jim Unknown locked down his 1st save.
António Díaz was a key contributor to the win for the Rapiers. In the bottom of the seventh with one out, the light-hitting shortstop stroked a single to center. He went 1 for 1.
