Seawolves Come Up Short at Belvedere Park
|
The Belvedere Park Rawhides stymied the Long Island Seawolves, 4-2, at Field of the Rawhides. Hugo Rampley, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Belvedere Park. Belvedere Park starter Damien Scudder was credited with the win after throwing 96 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-9. The save went to Dino Moonglampers, his 12th this season.
Belvedere Park took the lead in the bottom of the second when José Pérez stroked a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0 in favor of Belvedere Park. For the day, Pérez was 1-2 with a walk.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Belvedere Park skipper Mark Everhart.
The Rawhides improved to 39-36.
