Victory Pushes Thundercats Record to 30-16
|
Richardson City withstood an impressive performance by D.C. right fielder Mike Gardner to defeat the Divided, 6-5, at The Thunder Dome. Gardner went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Richardson City is now 30-16, 3 games up in the Division I.
Tokyo, Japan-born Seishiro Nishimura came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd and the Thundercats trailing 5-3, he hit a 3-run home run to left-center to put Richardson City on top.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said D.C. manager Jonathan Gerth. "The effort was great."
