Blue Sox Take 11-2 Pounding
|
Myrtle Beach Mermen starter Shuntavyious Primes-Willes turned in a top-notch performance against the Irving Blue Sox at Tennille Grounds. The result was a win for the Mermen, 11-2. Primes-Willes was the winning pitcher and moves to 2-1. He threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. Myrtle Beach, now 37-28, holds third place in the Silver AA.
Also producing for Myrtle Beach was shortstop Ricardo Collazo, who stroked a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the first. For the game, Collazo was 2-5 with a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
"This is a very good team," said Collazo. "We have the chance to do something special."
