The Marquette Miners picked up a win at Marquette Stadium, knocking off the Myrtle Beach Mermen, 3-2. Starting pitcher Luis Ortíz, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. In 8 innings, Ortíz surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs.
