Hot N Readys Beat Blue Sox, 3-1

Gonzalo Montés pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Irving Blue Sox, despite Montés's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Little Caesars Hot N Readys at The Pizza Oven. Leif Mayer picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 1-0. Little Caesars improves to 5-4 as they look to defend their championship.
The Hot N Readys got a big at-bat from Sisto Pagnamenta. For the game, Pagnamenta went 1 for 3. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 11th hit of the season gave Little Caesars a 1-0 lead.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Pagnamenta told the Little Caesars Bulletin.
