Díaz Helps Farmers Run Win Streak to 4
|
The Lancaster Farmers powered past the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 16-5, at Field of the Grasshoppers. Albert Díaz was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 5 times and driving in 3, to lead the charge. Steve Brown got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 9 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 7. At 4-2, the Lancaster Farmers have played well so far.
Carl Bryant was 1 for 4 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs for Lancaster. The 25-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. That's when he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Carlos Peret. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"I like our mindset right now," said Lancaster manager Jack Barnes.
