Polar Bears Walk It Off for 3rd Win of Season
Fernando Rivera did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Springfield Shooters from losing, 8-7, to the Billings Polar Bears at The Igloo. Rivera was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Billings reliever José Maestas was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Gonçalo Conxacha took the loss for Springfield. With the loss, Springfield falls to 3-3.

Bernard Gauthier was the walk-off hero for Billings. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Billings second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Gauthier said in his postgame press conference.
