Deuces Best Polar Bears in Pitching Duel
|
The Virginia Beach Deuces picked up a win at The Igloo, knocking off the Billings Polar Bears, 2-1. Starting pitcher Max Shaw played a key role in the triumph. Jim Unknown got the save, the 1st for him this season. The win gives Virginia Beach a record of 1-2.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the sixth. That's when Harry Freidricks, who was drafted in the three round of the 2022 draft, drew a walk. The Deuces went on to win.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Shaw.
