Takahashi Plays Big Role in Santa Barbara Win
|
Crane Field was the site of a exceptional pitchers' duel.
In a low-scoring contest between the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes and the Alaskan Humpbacks, pitcher Shunen Takahashi was excellent. The Santa Barbara left-hander was named the player of the game in Santa Barbara's 2-0 win. Armando Martínez picked up the save for Santa Barbara, his 10th of the year.
Takahashi, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 9-0. In 8.1 innings of work, Takahashi gave up no earned runs on 3 hits, while racking up 6 Ks. He kept the Humpbacks punchless, offensively.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Takahashi.
With the win, the Golden Cranes improved to 55-47.
