Coyotes Fall to Nieves, Belugas
|
The Brinkley Belugas downed the Hamilton Coyotes, 10-5, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The Belugas were led by Mario Nieves, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Chae-seong Kim picked up the win, improving his season record to 8-7. He struck out 3 in 5.1 innings. This win makes it 1 in a row for Brinkley.
Brinkley grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Nieves hit a 3-run home run. His 1st home run put the Belugas out in front, 6-3.
"We swung the bats pretty good throughout the lineup," said Brinkley skipper Junior Benítez.
